| PURPOSE: |

The primary purpose of the Division of Food and Lodging is to protect public health through the licensing and inspection of restaurants, lodging facilities, retail food stores, bed and breakfast facilities, mobile home parks, campgrounds, and trailer parks. |
| SERVICES AVAILABLE: |
| |
All types of information are available to the public on the minimum requirements for the construction and start-up of various food and lodging facilities. The division also provides educational courses in safe food handling, reviews plans for new establishments, and helps investigate food borne illnesses. Inspections are provided to insure that licensed establishments meet both sanitation and certain fire/life safety standards. |
| COST OF SERVICES: |

Licenses are issued annually and vary dependent upon accommodations provided and square footage of the retail facilities. Inspection and educational services are offered at no charge. |

| |
All of North Dakota. Some local health departments offer the same licensing and inspection services. Call for more information. |
