COMMUNITYWORKS ND
CommunityWorks ND is a statewide nonprofit providing various programs, services and financing to maintain and create affordable single- and multi-family housing. Among programs delivered is the gap-financing DREAM Fund to help families buy, build and repair homes, now available in about half of North Dakota counties. CommunityWorks also provides special assistance on several Indian Reservations; leadership in the HomeChoice Coalition, assisting families with a disabled household member to modify or purchase homes; access to other lending programs; and partnerships in developing low-income housing developments. |

EASTERN DAKOTA HOUSING ALLIANCE (EDHA)
The mission of the EDHA is to foster development and preservation of affordable housing in 25 eastern North Dakota counties. As a North Dakota based non-profit organization, the EDHA helps cities, counties, lenders, and for profit developers to build new or rehabilitate housing. Development projects include home ownership and rental opportunities. The EDHA is experienced in building finance packages that utilize multiple funding sources for the development of affordable housing. A developer fee is charged on all projects in which the EDHA plays a developmental role. Housing developments in which the EDHA is involved must serve primarily households below 80% of area median income for homeownership and below 60% of area median income for rental projects. |

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER/TRIO
The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federal grant program designed to help low income, first-generation adults enroll in the college of their choice. (First generation means neither parent graduated from a four-year college.) Services include assistance with choosing a college and a major, and assistance in applying for financial aid. EOC is funded to provide services to the northern half of North Dakota and a small part of northwest Minnesota. Beginning in September of 2007, EOC will also be funded to provide services in the Fargo-Moorhead area as well. |

LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES CHILD CARE RESOURCE & REFERRAL
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) works to improve the system of early learning for children by assisting families searching for child care, supporting child care programs and working with communities to address child care issues. Established in 1992 by the North Dakota Legislature and supported by public and private funding, CCR&R services are available throughout the state.
HELPING FAMILIES:
CCR&R assists families in their search for quality child care by supplying families with individualized referrals to all types of licensed child care as well as resources to help parents evaluate and choose appropriate care for their children.
HELPING CHILD CARE PROVIDERS:
CCR&R supports individuals and programs that care for children by coordinating meaningful training opportunities and resources, technical assistance to become licensed or to improve quality, and assistance in filling vacancies.
HELPING COMMUNITIES:
CCR&R builds connections in communities to generate support for child care issues by providing reliable data and encouraging partnerships to expand the child care capacity. CCR&R helps the public understand the important connection between the quality of care children receive in the early years and school success.
