Administered by the State Board of Agricultural Research and Education (SBARE), the Agricultural Research Fund (ARF) is a special fund in the state treasury derived from checkoffs indicated on the oil tax refund. The monies in the fund must be expended for agricultural research that is responsive to identified needs in North Dakota. SBARE-ARF will support research projects that:
- Have a positive economic impact for producers of crops and livestock in North Dakota;
- Improve the quantity and/or quality of agricultural commodities; and,
- Lead to efficiencies in, or substainability of agricultural productivity.

The Cooperative owns and operates a feed mill and grain cleaning facility in Wadena MN, organic certified with OCIA International for Cleaning & Bagging of Grains, Mixing and Bagging of Feed, currently offering feed for poultry and other livestock. Feed formulas include a variety of traditional and alternative grains.

Cloverdale Growers Alliance is a membership group of over 50 swine operations in North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. They sell their finished pork to Cloverdale Foods, Inc. Live animals are delivered to Minot, ND for harvest with most of the processing taking place in Mandan, ND. The alliance has been active since 1999 and has continued to grow. Producer members' hogs are purchased using the previous five-day average of the Iowa/S.Minn. daily direct market. Alliance management helps with procurement of feeder pigs, feed ration balancing, vet problems, marketing of sows and boars, transportation of livestock, feedstuff sourcing, and marketing programs.

PURPOSE:
Farm Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps family farmers bridge crisis so they may have an opportunity to continue viable operations. Farm Rescue provides assistance to farm families that have experienced a major illness, injury or act of nature which has caused financial hardship.
Farm Rescue creates an avenue for businesses and individuals to help save family farms in North Dakota. Helping one another during difficult times is not only the right thing to do, it strengthens our communities. Farm Rescue is operated entirely by volunteers.
The Farm Rescue program is made possible by sponsors who have given generously to support the tradition of independent family farmers, strong rural economies and a stable future in agriculture for the youth in North Dakota.
SERVICES AVAILABLE:
Qualifying farmers are eligible to have their agricultural land planted or harvested free of charge. (Limited to 3,000 acres per farm).
COST OF SERVICE:
Free of charge. (Farmers must provide seed and fertilizer on site).
GEOLOGICAL AREA SERVED:
State of North Dakota and within 50 miles of North Dakota border into Minnesota, South Dakota and Montana.
