| PURPOSE: |

The primary objective of the Red River Valley Potato Research Worksite is to develop and operate a long-term, standardized program evaluating new potato germplasm from U.S. breeding programs thereby expediting the production of new cultivars with improved raw quality and increased nutritional value for processing from long-term storage. Of special interest is the evaluation of low or non-saturated fat cooking oil and blends of cooking oils to lower cholesterol and saturated fat content. |

- Enhance and implement standardized screening protocols for evaluation of breeding selections for processing.
- Develop standardized testing procedures for assessment of advanced breeding selections for durability against harvest and handling damage and long-term storage.
- Evaluate efforts of post-harvest storage conditions on product quality.
