| What is Marketplace for Kids and who can participate? |
- Marketplace for Kids is a unique educational program offering
encouragement for developing young entrepreneurs. It provides young
people with a forum to present and explain their projects which are
demonstrating entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity.
- Marketplace
for Kids also provides a variety of classes and educational exhibits to
help young people develop their business skills, enhance personal
development and build friendships with other future leaders.
Marketplace for Kids demonstrates the special role of youth in
improving the economic future of our state.
- The current
program targets grades 4-6, but is open to all ages. Marketplace for
Kids is for all youth. All public, private, church, home-schooled or
gifted students are invited to participate. Marketplace for Kids also
encourages youth groups such as 4-H, After School Clubs, Boy Scouts and
Girl Scouts to get involved.

Anyone interested in Marketplace for Kids
may request information. The Marketplace for Kids learning guide is available on our website www.MarketplaceForKids.org and in hard copy. This guide contains all of the tools/resources needed to prepare students for Marketplace for Kids.

| Education Day Elements |
The first Marketplace for Kids Education Day, held in Jamestown, ND, in 1995, drew 600 participants. Since then, the program has grown to ten locations in 2008, with over 17,000 participants. Elements of the Education Day include:
Projects: Students present and showcase their projects. Our student inventors, crators and entrepreneurs are scheduled to be at their projects for paret of the day to discuss them with other students and interested visitors.
Classes/Activities for Students: Short, hands-on clases/activities are designed to hlep students explore career fields, develop self-employment skills, explore new technology and discover entrepreneurship. All presenters are available to answer questions and provide technical assistance throughout the year.
Education/Information Exhibits: Local, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations and private sector businesses are invited to have educational exhibits. All personnel are asked to answer questions and provide technical assistance.
