FIRST LEGO League (FLL) introduces young people, ages 9-14, to the fun and excitement of science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. FLL kids design, build, and program fully autonomous robots using LEGO MINDSTORMS technologies in response to an annual Challenge. Teams then bring their robotics solutions to high-energy, sports-like tournaments with judges and awards.
Teams can come from anywhere, but typically are formed in schools, after school programs, science centers, boys and girls clubs, and in neighborhoods. "We want to change the culture by celebrating the mind. We need to show kids that it's more fun to design and create a video game than it is to play one."
