ND Career Resource Network (NDCRN) Print
PURPOSE:
  Provide a coordinated occupational and career information delivery system in North Dakota.
PROGRAMS:
  NDCRN provides products and services (including extensive inservice on the use of the products) for professional educators and career counselors on such items as:
  • Career Outlook - career planning tabloid.
  • Choices Explorer - expand awareness of occupations and develop a high school plan.
  • Choices Planner - continue from Explorer, focusing career plans and transitioning to postsecondary education and/or work.
  • TestGEAR - prepare for the ACT test. Excellent instructional materials.
  • Career Planning Portfolio - central location for career plans made through Choices Explorer and Planner.
  • NDCRN web site - links to hundreds of career planning resources in North Dakota.
  • Career Development Implementation Tool Kits - Activities to link curriculum standards and benchmarks to career planning skills.
  • Career Development in the Classroom - workshops to assist teachers to integrate career planning resources into their existing curriculum.
  • Real Game Series - academic skills used in real life activities.
  • Smart Options - linking Gardner's Multiple Intelligences to career planning.
  • Skills for a Lifetime posters - skills needed in all occupations.
  • Parent brochures - series of 16 brochures to give parents ideas of how to become more involved in their child's educational experiences.
  • ICDM workshops - overview of hundreds of resources available to assist in career planning activities.
COST OF SERVICES:
  No cost.
GEOGRAPHICAL AREA SERVED:
  Statewide.
CLIENTELE SERVED:
  Teachers, counselors and parents, providing them with the resources to work with youth in career planning.
SPONSORING AGENT:
  NDCRN is an interagency organization.
