| Central Dakota Birding Drive |
|
The Central Dakota Birding Drive is near the center of the State of North Dakota where Highway 14 and Highway 52 intersect, consisting of three different routes, each approximately 80 miles in length: the Antelope Lakes Route, the Lonetree Route and the Wintering River Route.
The Birding Drive booklet is a product of a joint effort of the Quad County Economic Development Corporation and the communities of Drake, Anamoose, Butte, Balfour and Karlshruhe.
The routes meander through sparsely populated, breathtaking scenery, delighting even the most seasoned traveler. Spectacular scenery will delight the senses of everyone, including those merely along for the ride, who may not be "birders". Camping areas are available in most the small towns. A complete copy of the Birding Drives Booklet is available online through: http://www.visitminot.org. Click the visitors link, then the birding link. There you will find additional information on the Central Dakota Birding Drives.
Copies of the booklet are also available in paper form. For a supply, contact: |

Securing the expert guidance of Paul Konrad, former editor of Wild Bird and nationally known birder/photographer, the routes optimize the birding experience for all, beginning birders to those who are seasoned birders looking for "target" birds, as they traverse the incredibly well planned routes, ranked as some of the finest birding areas on the North American continent.
