Medina - Chase Lake Birding Drive |
|
| |
The Medina-Chase Lake Birding Drive begins at Medina, travels north on Highway 30 to Chase Lake, Woodworth, and USFWS Chase Lake Refuge Offices and returns to Medina. The drive showcases varieties of habitats and highlights farmer/landowner cooperation and conservation activities.
Medina-Chase Lake booklets and area information are available free at the Chase Lake Visitors and Information Center in downtown Medina (108 Water Street West). The Center also features displays on birding and the work of the Chase Lake Foundation.
The Chase Lake Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and serves as the official "friends" organization for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Chase Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The Foundation also seeks to develop a cooperative alliance among farmers, landowners, residents and visitors to protect natural resources, encourage sound conservation, and develop eco-tourism opportunities for the area.
