The Nature Conservancy Print

natconservancy_clip_image002.jpgTogether with members and conservation partners, The Nature Conservancy works to protect critical natural lands in North Dakota.

Through the support of conservation-minded citizens, the Conservancy targets prairies and woodlands endangered by development and threatened species, such as piping plovers and the western prairie fringed orchid.

To save imperiled grasslands, the Conservancy is working across state lines on landscape-scale projects, sharing information about threats - like invasive species (http://nature.org/initiatives/invasivespecies/) - and best-management practices.

Grasslands are found on every continent and cover about 41 percent of the Earth's land surface. It is one of the most endangered systems in the world.
