The mission of the ND Forest Service is to care for, protect and improve forest and natural resources to enhance the quality of life for future generations. |
| SERVICES: |

The ND Forest Service can provide assistance for producing, selling or personally enjoying specialty forest products in rural, urban fringe or even in urban settings. Specialty forest products include an enormous range of products. These include food products (nuts, fruits, mushrooms), decorative floral products (pussy willows, spring flowering branches), medicinal and botanical products (ginseng, echinacea), craft products (diamond willow, walking sticks), and forest crops (Christmas trees, firewood). Most of these products can be sold for a profit. Some markets are large and structured with wholesale and retail outlets. Other markets are local, such as a jelly company, floral shop, or craftsperson, and are better suited for a small producer. |

As a state agency, the ND Forest Service offers free technical assistance to individuals, agencies or organizations. |

The general citizenry of North Dakota, including rural and urban landowners, local, state and federal agencies, and Indian Reservations. |
