Mid-America Credit Union Association |

|
| PURPOSE: |
| |
The Mid-America Credit Union Association (formerly the ND Credit Union League) is the trade association for credit unions in the Dakotas, providing them with legislative lobbying, education programs and materials, share draft check processing, marketing and advertising services, legal assistance, consulting services, credit card programs, ATM access and other products and services. |
| SERVICES AVAILABLE: |
| |
With the Association, credit unions work toward economic development in their communities by lending to individuals and, in some cases, businesses seeking funds. Several credit unions are certified lenders with the Small Business Administration, and some work with other financial institutions to provide loan pools for businesses and cooperatives in their respective areas.
Communities, businesses or groups seeking credit union services may contact the Association for assistance in organizing a new or joining an existing credit union. For companies, it is a valuable, cost-effective fringe benefit for employees.
|
| COST OF SERVICES: |
| |
Because of their cooperative structure, credit unions are very competitive financial service providers. Each credit union operates independently, with rates for savings and loans set by the credit union’s volunteer board of directors. This local ownership by members is an important aspect of credit unions. |
| GEOGRAPHICAL AREA SERVED: |
| |
The Mid-America Credit Union Association serves credit unions in the Dakotas. Credit unions themselves serve memberships in their community areas, or those employer or association groups specified in their charter. |
